Photographer:
Philip Lorca DiCorcia.
Starring: Carmen Kruezer/Women, M/Karin
The
Ad Exec: Straight from the art school / school of fashion.
I didn't love this campaign. I think it has that overly serious,
fake-intellectual quality that is very 90's and mannered and
outdated. Why does fashion have to be so depressing to be
valid? This may have worked for the European market but do
you think it drove them crazy in Houston. I doubt it.
The Editor: Uhm maybe it feels overtly arty since it
was shot by one of best fine art photographer working the
trade.
The Ad Exec: I doubt they care about that on Worth
Avenue.
The Shop-A-Holic: Fendi is forever but they need a
new bag. I didn't really get an urge to splurge by looking
at this stuff if you know what I mean.
The Photo Rep: I'd say that in my book, this was probably
one of the most beautifully lit things from last season. Funny
enough when I first saw this I presumed Karl had shot it,
I was like "What's he been drinking" A very impressive,
very complex production
The Editor: Well I for one love the sinister frisson
that twisted an unabashedly retro collection, back into a
futuristic direction. That tension is bourn out in the casting
for whilst it was girls like Fanni who looked exquisite in
this show, it took these girls with their, somewhat more abrasive
quality to give the images their gravity. It was not banal
and so it became distinctive. I'll fight tooth and nail for
this!
