by: Steven Klein
Featuring: Vivien Solari / Ford, Robert Perovich / Wilhelmina
The
Editor: Ah Vivien. With a face made for the camera. I love the austere,
sculptural nature of these images. Nothing new here. Nothing ground
breaking but Calvin's signature purity and simplicity leaps forward.
The horse in abstraction really upgrades this up to a higher level.
But then again who doesn't love horses.
The
Photographer: It's clean. It's graphic. The girl looks beautiful.
Can't argue with his use of light and shadow. Much stronger than the
last few Collection campaigns.
The
Agent: It's a very, very powerful image, with universal appeal and
it stands out in the middle of all of this "rich" fashion
that's becoming a little too rich for my blood. I feel like somebody
opened the window and let some cold morning air in when I looked at
this campaign. It's so pure. Love the way all the clothes have been
stripped down to the essential tone: black. This has a timeless feeling.
Why don't we ever reward subtlety? Personally, this is the best campaign
I've seen all season!
The
"It" Girl: I don't get it. Nice to look at but what am
I supposed to buy? Black alligator boots?
