English by birth, Tom first embarked on his photographic journey during the late 1980's, moving from London to New York in 1990 to study at the renowned Parsons School of Design.
Commencing in 1994, Tom served a 3 year apprenticeship with arguably the world's most respected fashion photographer, Steven Meisel.
Early 1997, Tom embarked on his own photographic career, immediately in demand and achieving overnight success with his early editorials for both British Vogue and Italian Vogue.
During a career that by now spans two decades, Tom continues to contribute to the world's most prestigious magazine publications including Vanity Fair, Italian Vogue & L'Uomo Vogue.
Tom's dedication and passion towards his craft continues to attract the industry's leading designers and brands, including Dolce & Gabbana, Giorgio Armani, L'Oreal, Shiseido, Tom Ford and Yves Saint Laurent.
Known for his celebrity portraits, Tom has enjoyed collaborating with such talents as Adele, Angelina Jolie, Beyonce, Cate Blanchett, Dustin Hoffman, Eva Green, Johnny Depp, Joaquin Phoenix, Julianne Moore, Justin Timberlake, Kate Winslet, Leonardo Di Caprio, Lily-Rose Depp, Lady Gaga, Marion Cotillard, Nicole Kidman, Rhianna, Scarlett Johansson and Quentin Tarantino to name a few.
The success of Tom's 2008 directorial debut and collaboration with Madonna for the music video 'Give it 2 Me' featuring Pharrell Williams led to further film and photographic projects including 'Die Another Day' ,Human Nature', Justify My Love' and the Tour Book for Madonna's 'Sticky and Sweet' World Tour.
More recent years have seen a growing demand for Tom Munro 'the director', with films and commercials for Giorgio Armani 'Si' fragrance starring Cate Blanchett and Tom Ford's Lips and Boys.
