Born and raised in Ukraine, Sasha Samsonova had professional ballroom dancing in her sights before ever picking up a camera. Once she did, however, it didn’t take long before clients started hiring her for shoots.

Ever a self-starter, Sasha's work ethic has always matched her curiosity. She taught herself photography by studying the works and processes of icons like Helmut Newton and Richard Avedon. At seventeen, Sasha shot for Harper’s Bazaar and, shortly after, she was shooting for numerous titles across Europe. In 2013, Sasha moved to LA and soon began directing more and more.

Sasha’s projects span the art, fashion and commercial worlds. Her sultry, elegant aesthetic captures a beautiful sense of mood that’s timeless and powerful. Sasha has collaborated with brands and editorials such as Fear of God, Google, Kylie Cosmetics, Revlon, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, L’Officiel, and Elle. In addition, Sasha has directed music videos for artists like Ciara, Gallant, and Pink.
