Born in England but having grown up between London and Paris, Philip H J Gay became interested in photography whilst studying Film and Literature at University in London.

Thanks to his elegant and sophisticated style, Philip has shot for some of the most esteemed magazines all over the world, such as i-D, Muse, Numéro Berlin and Tokyo, Elle, GQ, Purple, Zoo, Arena Homme +, Vogue Hommes, Interview, Dossier and Vogue - US, Germany, Australia, Russia, France, Spain as well as Bazaar Spain and US.

Besides shooting portraits of actors and musicians such as Kristen Stewart, Dua Lipa, Lily-Rose Depp, Gwyneth Paltrow, Isabelle Huppert, Golshifteh Farahani, Maiwenn, Vanessa Paradis, James Mcavoy, Laetita Casta, Joan Collins, Kristin Scott Thomas, Hugh Grant, Mark Ruffalo, Lou Doillon, MGMT, New Order and Jane Birkin –, Philip has also worked with commercial clients of the likes of Giorgio Armani, Elizabeth Arden, Dolce & Gabbana, Martin Margiela, Etam, Persol and Cartier among others.

He currently lives and works between Paris and New York.
