Makiyo Lio is a fashion photographer and director working between London & New York.

She was born and raised in Singapore. She moved to Milan to pursue photography in 2013 which later led her to live in Barcelona/Madrid where she spent most of her formative years at.

Working across fashion, portraiture and documentary - Her work is characterised by an intimate and dreamlike feel inspired by cinematic colours and the characters she shoots.

Typically drawn to non traditional stories, Makiyo has a raw, honest and playful way of capturing her subjects and narratives. She is highly skilled in editorial and commercial publishing across print and digital media platforms.

Her clients include Self-Portrait, Gucci Beauty, Bacardi, Farfetch and MAC Cosmetics.

She has shot editorial for publication including Vogue, Glamour, Condé Nast Spain, Elle, Dazed, inStyle and Lula worldwide.
