Louis Byrne is a celebrity hairstylist, activist and creator of empowerment movement I Can I Am and I Will.
Louis’ message is one totally of the moment: “Own your identity; embrace who you are” - a message which now sits at the forefront of the hair and wellbeing industries.
Louis has over 30 years’ experience as a hairstylist. His passion for how hair can enhance identity began when he started styling his Aunty Val’s hair aged 5 years old.
Louis has subsequently created some of the most iconic celebrity hairstyles of the past decade. From singer Ellie Goulding’s tumbling waves to the androgynous haircuts which became defining features for television presenter Emma Willis and actor Vicky McClure. Most recently, Louis has added singer Paloma Faith and actor Indira Varma to his roster of female stars.
Louis’s fascination in how personal image and identity informs wellbeing – coupled with his own recovery from loss, trauma and addiction – led him to found I Can I Am and I Will, a personal empowerment project which consults with institutions and corporations as well as being a personal growth program grounded in a journal and app.
Louis has undertaken fashion editorial and advertising briefs for Louis Vuitton, Dior, Nike and Stella McCartney and is a brand ambassador for L’Oreal Professional and Nobu Wellness. Louis has featured on ITV’s Lorraine show and is a Creative Director for Sunday sessions ManifeSTATION at Nicola Clarke John Frieda with the tag line ‘your hair grows, you grow’. He volunteers for Haircuts for Homeless.
