Linda Brownlee’s work, as both photographer and director, moves between the worlds of portraiture, fashion, and documentary. Her work has been shown in galleries such as London’s National Portrait Gallery, Tate Liverpool, Open Eye Gallery, the Yinka Shonibare Gallery, The Library Project, Hang Tough Contemporary and the Gallery of Photography in Dublin.
Linda’s monographs include ‘Achill’ published in 2010 by Eighty One Books. Her project ‘Hydrangea Etc’ was published by design group AAD in 2014 as part of a book series ‘Where We Are’. In 2016, she collaborated with Aisling Farinella and Workgroup publishing ‘I Zii’. Her most recent solo show ‘Idle Topography’ exhibited at Hangtough Gallery in 2019.
Her photography has featured regularly in publications such as British Vogue, The New York Times, Dazed & Confused, and The Guardian magazines. Commercial clients include Bally, Miu Miu, Cos, and Roksanda. She has collaborated with Nowness,
Her documentary short film series ‘Limber Notes’ featured on Nowness. She has gone on to collaborate with Hans Ulrich Obrist, Edie Campbell, Vanessa Redgrave & Simone Rocha amongst others on moving image projects. Her short films have been shown at many festivals around the world including Aesthetica film festival and Milan Fashion Film Festival.
