José Lapaz-Rodriguez is a Dominican movement artist and performer from Trenton, NJ, born and raised in the Dominican Republic and now residing in Brooklyn, NY. He has graduated with a BFA in Dance at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. Jose is part of the Haus of Telfar in New York City and has been in the ballroom scene since 2018 while also instructing in multiple studios in New York City including Steps on Broadway and Gibney. He has worked for Facebook messenger ads, multiple editorial magazines like Paper Magazine, Gayletter, Self Service Magazine, New York Times, Coach FW22, Willy Chavarria AW22 and most recently a global campaign with COS with a release on his first acting debut in Playland where it’s currently showing at Tribeca Film Festival, Ptown Film Festival and Frameline 47 in San Francisco.
