Jacob John Harmer blends the intimacy of documentary filmmaking with a naturalistic yet composed cinematography. The result is a style that adapts to match its subject matter whilst amplifying the tonality of the worlds in which he focuses his eye. After graduating from the London College Of Communication, Jacob continued to build his technical skills as a photographer and editor, shooting youth culture and cutting promos before shifting his attention towards short film and branded content. Jacob is now based between the U.K and U.S where he has received commissions from clients including Nike, Topshop, Mulberry, Microsoft, Vivienne Westwood, Another and I.D-Vice, and collaborated with talent such as A$ap Rocky, Adwoa Aboah and Sky Ferreira. Jacob has featured on Nowness, at the MFFF, AIFFF and Aesthetica film festivals, and for his most recent project entitled ‘Jul’Hoansi’ has spent time in Africa exploring the spiritual traditions of the ancient San tribe.
