Based in Barcelona, Iris Humm was born and raised in Milan, before moving to Spain to focus on photography.

Iris began taking photographs aged fifteen, documenting everything around her. “I noticed that the most fun I had was while taking photos, it felt right, it was rewarding.” Never questioning these instincts, she now applies her intimate and intuitive aesthetic to an impressive portfolio of brands and assignments.

Iris describes her practice as ‘communicating the emotional quality of a moment’, seeking to invite the viewer in to the captured environment. Her images convey a sense of freedom and intimacy.

Characterised by its use of warm, natural light, her most notable personal project to date is the expansive and sensitive body of work captured with her father and sister at their home in Switzerland. Iris returns year on year to the family home on the lake, to capture work that reflects the experience of being with family in a particular moment in time.

She says of the project “we grow up, we change, our relationship with our parents and siblings is constantly evolving. I know that these images that I am making of them, will show me everything I need to know about us.”
