Hugo Arturi was born in Madrid, Spain and was raised between New York City and Buenos Aires. He studied Jazz & Contemporary Music at the New School for Social Research while learning photography on his own. At the New School University Hugo nourished his interest in social research and political science while also taking photographs. He went on to assist many of today's most important global photographers before pursuing his own photography work.
Hugo shoots Fashion, Beauty, and Portraiture and enjoy's working on location and in the studio. His work utilizes it’s surroundings and incorporates them into the image through thoughtful composition and lighting.
In 2017 Hugo screened a documentary titled 4 Stories 4 New York focusing on Immigration in New York City directing and writing along with his still images. The collaboration brought together NY based organization VOLS Immigration Project with Milk Studios to bring awareness to the topic of children and immigration
