Crystabel Efemena Riley works with an interest in widening the boundaries of make-up, with a long term focus on working with ethical and sustainably concious make-up products and materials.
Her ritualistic approach has seen her collaborate with publications such as Dazed, British Vogue, Vogue Italia, POP, ID and Harper's Bazaar Italia and work with photographers Esther Theaker, Ekua King, Ben Toms, Laura Coulson, Juergen Teller, Angelo Pennetta and Gabriel Moses.
She has also collaborated with designers for London and Paris fashion weeks to lead make-up teams pioneering 'zero-waste' backstage approach to the make-up application.
In 2018 Crystabel wrote and researched the Beauty Paper's series 'SKINCARE/UNCARE' which examined the ambiguity of ethics within the beauty industry. In 2017 she co-wrote the first 'Eco-Beauty' course for the London College of Fashion and is currently a steering group member of the British Beauty Council's Sustainable Beauty Coalition which works to create stronger frameworks and policies for the beauty sector in the UK with sustainability and green credentials as a central focus.
