Born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, Amber Pinkerton (b.1997) is a London-based visual artist who works across fashion, fine art and commercial commissions. Focusing on Jamaica and its diaspora, Amber explores themes of identity and humanity, capturing beauty in her depictions of everyday life. Her point of view and visual language draws heavily upon Caribbean culture and associated socio-political contexts.
Amber is regularly featured in go-to lists of young, creative talent, most recently Forbes 30 Under 30 (2022), The New York Times Style Magazine's list of '15 Creative Women for Our Time' (2020) and in the 2020 British Fashion Council's New Wave: Creatives List. She was also listed in the Dazed 100 rankings (2020) as well as i-D's ‘Photographers to follow in 2020’ and is represented for fine art by Alice Black Gallery.
Pinkerton earned a 1st Class BA (Hons) in Photography at the University of Westminster in 2023. She is represented worldwide by Lalaland Artists and Alice Black Gallery.
