Alicia Sciberras is a Set Designer based in New York.
Her narrative-driven and highly conceptual approach to set-building has its origins in sculpture—she holds a Fine Arts degree from Sydney College of the Arts, where she majored in Sculpture and Installation. Alicia’s personal work abounds with abstracted, 3D forms that invite closer inspection: surreal white blocks, as fluffy and tactile as whipped cream towers, or stacked hoops that double as optical illusions. Her masterful set work—spanning intricate tabletop compositions to sprawling interior builds—appears in publications like T: The New York Times Style Magazine, WSJ, US Vogue, US Harper's Bazaar, Garage, V and W Magazine. Commercial clients include Balenciaga, Jacquemus, Proenza Schouler, Coach, Calvin Klein, Hugo Boss, DKNY and Zara. Though meticulously researched and constructed, each of her collaborations hums with the urgent, instinctive dynamism of a readymade. They’re packed with tiny, eccentric details, inventive materials, and experimental fabrications that pull the viewer’s gaze cleverly around every scene.
