Born in 1987 into a family of hairdressers, Marki Shkreli's interest in hairdressing was sparked at an early age. Having mentored under Detroit legend David Presley, whom was 100 years old when they both met, Marki was encouraged to move from his hometown in Michigan to New York City in 2005.
Marki began a portrait series of models that he both styled and shot himself. After living in Paris and becoming the Creative Director of Leonor Greyl Paris in 2012, His talent was spotlighted when he was booked on his first editorial as an independent hairdresser for Self Service Magazine. He has since collaborated with the industry's top fashion photographers and stylists, including Carine Roitfeld, George Cortina, Ezra Petronio, Venetia Scott, Camilla Nickerson, Jodie Barnes and Zoe Ghertner.
His work appears in Vogue Italia, I-D, Dazed, Purple, WSJ and Pop. Celebrity clients include Drew Barrymore, Tilda Swinton, Emma Watson, Diane Lane, Christina Aguilera, Victoria Beckham, Elle Fanning and Pamela Anderson.
Marki is based between New York and Los Angeles.
