Born and raised in Tokyo, Makiko moved to Paris in 2002.

Among the celebrities with whom Makiko worked are Jared Leto, Diane Kruger, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Sofia Coppola, Tom Hanks, Scott Eastwood, Mia Wasikowska, Michelle Monaghan, Ivana Milievic and Tao Okamoto.

Makiko created all the looks from Michel Comte’s feature film “The Girl From Nagasaki”, which screened at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival.

Makiko currently lives in Los Angeles.
