Set Designer Eli Metcalf was born and raised in Southern California. A dedicated musician, surfer, skateboarder and artist, Eli began his career in the nineties, building custom props and set dressings for video commercials. Eli later became an Art Director for veteran film and music video director Joseph Kahn, designing sets for some of most iconic music videos in pop culture history.
Later embarking on his own career as a set designer and prop stylist, Eli’s work now spans multiple disciplines in the field of art and design including filmmaking, painting, printmaking, sculpture, furniture and light design.
Eli has collaborated with some of the top photographers in the world including Fabien Baron, Ezra Petronio, Patrick Demarchelier, Norman Jean Roy, Christian MacDonald, Nathaniel Goldberg and Lachlan Bailey. His clients include Calvin Klein, Public School, Perry Ellis, Diane von Furstenberg, Armani Exchange, Kenneth Cole, L’Oreal and Nike.
Eli’s editorial credits include Vogue Paris, Vogue Spain, Vogue China, L’Uomo Vogue, i-D, Self Service, Interview, Dazed & Confused, V/V Man and WSJ.
