But what if instead of typical linen and cotton, you took a chance on leather? The dense fabric normally associated with cooler temps has finally been altered to a humid friendly medium, thanks to Italian designer Marianna Rosati of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.drome.it\/\" target=\"_blank\">DROMe<\/a>. Launched in 2009, Rosati grew up watching her father manipulate the sensual fabric and decided to modernize the techniques she was surrounded by. &#8220;My father&#8217;s company was called Santacroce and it was mostly famous for its leather,&#8221; Rosati recalls. &#8220;At the beginning, I worked with leather a lot so I think that&#8217;s how my interest in this material grew.&#8221; After continuing to work with the fabric in her assistant days, it made sense to continue building on that stable foundation. The result has been a brand that fantastically incorporates skins with other fabrics like silk to create twisted lightweight tops, ruffled detailing, and even opalescent trousers.
