Backstage was buzzing with the exhilarating energy that New York fashion week brings and we were able to capture it all behind-the-scenes moments. From Prabal to Wang to Hood By Air to Jason Wu there was a little bit of something for everyone when it came to beauty trends this season. \nLove was in the air when it came to Prabal Gurung<\/a>‘s beauty look of the season. The Valentine’s Day show had hair by Anthony Turner<\/a> slightly tousled, twisted, and secured into a low ponytail leaving a feeling of romanticism. Faces were kept blushing with a subtle glow by Diane Kendal<\/a> for MAC<\/a> with a slight pinkish wash applied to lips. It was able to complement seamlessly with the luxurious collection that focused on feminine elegance.

Jason Wu F\/W 16<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nBeauty was a simple amplification with a pop of the unexpected at Jason Wu<\/a>. Makeup was kept fairly natural by Yadim<\/a> with ample mascara applied to the lashes to create graphic clusters. Models’ hair lead by Paul Hanlon<\/a> was deeply parted and tip-toed the line between unstructured and done with a slight finger wave at the top that broke into natural waves.

Hood by Air F\/W 16<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nHood by Air<\/a> was a maximalist’s dream with darkly painted in eyebrows with negative space to resemble gang cuts in them courtesy of Inge Grognard<\/a>. Hair referenced the brand’s “pilgrimage” theme so hair stylist Amy Farid<\/a> ranged her creations from colonial-style pilgrim curls to puffy ponytails tightly wrapped in airport cellophane. Manicurist Dawn Sterling<\/a> rounded up the look with stained fingernails.

Thom Browne F\/W 16<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nSomething old, something new? Such was the question on Thom Browne<\/a>‘s mind for his latest Fall 2016 collection. The designer once again took us into his world set this time in Washington Square Park in the 1920s. The timeless modern suit was deconstructed with bits of pieces of the recognizable staples into windswept looks. Makeup artist Sil Bruinsma<\/a> (Streeters New York<\/a>) continued the nostalgic theme by using MAC cyan and white pigments that created a dreamy pastel blue on the eyes with a flush of blush-tones to the cheeks. Hair was wet wrapped around models heads by Jimmy Paul<\/a> using Bumble and Bumble<\/a> and then adorned with windy chapeaus by Stephen Jones<\/a>.

Alexander Wang F\/W 16<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nFor Alexander Wang<\/a>, dream team Guido Palau<\/a> & Pat McGrath<\/a> heralded confident individuality as key and created makeovers of a bunch of the fresh faces storming the runway. Model newcomer Katie Moore<\/a> debuted on the runway and unfurled a fresh chop and The Fifth Element orange dye job that grabbed everyone’s attention. Striking, daring, and far from shy, the beauty looks mirrored the cool, downtown vibe of the collection this season.
