We at Models.com were deeply saddened at the passing of David Bowie, the legendary rock star whose creative impact has been felt not just in music but in fashion, film and culture at large. We mourn the passing of an artist unlike any other, with a seemingly endless capacity of reinvention, whose many iconic and oft-imitated incarnations are part of the visual, musical and cultural landscape of the last five decades. From the breakthrough Space Oddity, to his androgynous glam rock personae of the Ziggy Stardust period, to the Thin White Duke, to his cross over successes including Fame, Young Americans and Let\u2019s Dance, but also crossing into seminal movie roles from The Man Who Fell To Earth, The Hunger, Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, and many memorable guest appearances, Bowie\u2019s influence on music, pop culture and art is wide ranging and was influential in bringing unconventional ideas, including androgyny and bisexuality, into the mainstream.<\/p>\n
