While New York, London, Milan, and Paris continue to reign as the leading fashion capitals of the world, new contenders were vying for attention on the global fashion scale. This year, more cities than ever delivered their input on the latest fashion trends to be consumed, with Tokyo, Seoul, and Sydney stepping into the limelight. What\u2019s more is many designers first sparked global interest showing at lesser known fashion weeks whether it was Vetements designer and newly appointed Balenciaga<\/a> creative director, Demna Gvasalia<\/a>\u2019s humble beginnings at Georgia Fashion Week, Jun Takahashi of Undercover<\/a> fame starting at Tokyo Fashion Week<\/a>, or Amaka Osaka\u2019s showings at Lagos Fashion and Design Week<\/a>. Further, the global allure has even tempted the more established brands to hop in the jet and move their shows off the beaten fashion trail in Cannes, Portofino, and Rome.<\/p>\n
