Magazine aficionados with a taste for vintage will remember Holiday Magazine<\/em> as a pioneering mix of art, culture, and literature that reigned supreme in the 50s and 60s. With an urbane sensibility and debonair spirt the publication featured influential travel coverage alongside work from the likes of Hemingway, Colette and Kerouac. In keeping with that fabled history, art director\u00a0Franck Durand<\/a><\/strong> and journalist Marc Beaug\u00e9 introduce Holiday to a new generation with an impressive relaunch that merges style and substance in to an irresistible package. We caught up with the talented Mr. Durand for a look inside the new issue and its wealth of creative content.<\/p>\n

What made the original magazine so special?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hedonism and freedom.<\/p>\n

How have you all evolved the magazine for 2014?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Holiday is now a brand, a magazine<\/a>, a caf\u00e9, a website, an instagram<\/a> and a line of clothing. We also lightly introduced fashion to the review.<\/p>\n

Great writing was such a big part of the original – which writers do you have contributing to the new issue? <\/strong><\/p>\n

We followed the same principle as the original, in this issue we had the pleasure to work with the young and already very talented writer Arthur Dreyffus, who went to Ibiza to report for Holiday.<\/p>\n

Tell us a bit about the fashion within the issue.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fashion is part of a whole. There are no fashion stories in the magazine, we are evoking a style, a spirit, a personality.<\/p>\n

What made you settle on 69 as the theme?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Atelier Franck Durand<\/a> is very fond of the sixties. It was an era full of sensuality, where eroticism was still associated to a certain aestheticism.<\/p>\n

What is your favorite feature within the issue? <\/strong><\/p>\n

For a thousands reasons, we are proud of the overall.<\/p>\n
