The announcement came Thursday, weeks after his <a href=\"https:\/\/models.com\/work\/alexander-mcqueen-mcqueen-ss-27-show\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">S\/S 27 show<\/a>. McGirr, who joined in October 2023 following Sarah Burton\u2019s 13-year tenure, said his vision for the house \u201cwas grounded in the interplay between raw, visceral, human beauty and the precision and rigor at the heart of the house.\u201d McQueen president and CEO Gianfranco D\u2019Attis, who took the role in June, credited McGirr with helping the house \u201creconnect Alexander McQueen with London, its culture, and its extraordinary creative energy.\u201d The exit lands in the middle of a significant restructuring. McQueen closed 20 stores in the first half of this year, with a target of 50 percent fewer stores by year\u2019s end, and the house generated less than \u20ac200 million in revenue in 2025, down from a peak of \u20ac850 million during the post-pandemic boom. At Kering\u2019s Capital Markets Day in April, de Meo said, \u201cYou take a brand like McQueen, which is by nature a very niche, edgy, avant-garde house. And then you start opening shops and doing accessible products. This is not McQueen.\u201d  New creative leadership is said to be announced shortly with a debut in London, where the house has committed to showing permanently.
