The Fashion Awards To Honor Edward Enninful<\/strong>
\nAs Edward Enninful<\/a> prepares to shift from his role as the European Editorial Director of Vogue<\/a> to global creative and cultural adviser next year, the British Fashion Council announced this week that they will honor him with the Trailblazer Award at this year’s Fashion Awards on December 4th \u2014 just as he was also announced as the recipient of the Gay Times Honour<\/a> for Fashion Icon. Sponsored by Pandora, the British Council Fashion Awards will be held at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Enninful, the groundbreaking first black Editor-in-Chief of British Vogue, will receive the Trailblazer Award in recognition of his six-year tenure challenging traditional beauty standards, advocating for diversity, and transforming the global fashion media landscape. Caroline Rush, Chief Executive Officer of the BFC and organizer of the Fashion Awards and London Fashion Week, described Enninful as \u201ca highly influential figure, with his groundbreaking work and collaborations transcending fashion and profoundly impacting wider culture. A fierce campaigner for diversity and inclusion in everything he does, Enninful has shaped a new vision for fashion media through his tenure as editor in chief at British Vogue, not only in the U.K. but globally.\u201d Established in 2018, the Trailblazer Award acknowledges innovators and creatives whose recent contributions have significantly influenced the fashion industry. Past recipients include last year’s winner Kim Jones, Alessandro Michele, and Sarah Burton. The trophy, designed by stylist, art director, and 2022 New Wave creative Julie Liu in collaboration with the glass production company World of Glass, will be presented to Enninful and other winners\/recipients at the ceremony.[WWD<\/a>]<\/p>\n
