After being inspired by watching the Victoria&#8217;s Secret <a href=\"https:\/\/models.com\/work\/victorias-secret-victorias-secret-2015-fashion-show\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">show <\/a>in 2015, Hua took control of her life, saying to herself with her warm humor, \u201cI&#8217;m tall. I can try this out too.\u201d Without overthinking it, Hua traveled solo from her small town in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang province, to Shanghai to interview with her first mother agency and got signed on the spot. Shortly after international agencies, including ones from New York and London, were on scouting trips in the region during that time, saw her, and signed Hua immediately. She had her first big break when she debuted for Schiaparelli&#8217;s Couture Spring 2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/models.com\/work\/schiaparelli-schiaparelli-haute-couture-spring-2019-show\/1057077\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">show<\/a>, made it to the <a href=\"https:\/\/models.com\/rankings\/ui\/TheHotList\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hot List rankings<\/a> in 2021, and worked her way to <a href=\"https:\/\/models.com\/rankings\/ui\/Top50\/32572#32572\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Top 50<\/a> status last October. In 2019, Hua first cultivated what has proven to be an essential relationship with creative director <a href=\"https:\/\/models.com\/people\/casey-cadwallader\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Casey Cadwallader<\/a> of Mugler, growing her portfolio to include a recent appearance in the &#8220;We Are All Angel by Mugler: The Film&#8221; advertising <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CjVwA48LM3F\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">campaign<\/a> last Fall. \u201cWorking with the Mugler team is more than work. Walking 230 runways and counting, it\u2019s been a full circle moment for Hua, who has impressed luxury houses like <a href=\"https:\/\/models.com\/client\/dior\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dior<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/models.com\/client\/mugler\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mugler<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/models.com\/client\/chanel\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chanel<\/a>, the latter of who she\u2019s walked for eight times at far-flung shows staged in Monte Carlo, Florence, and most recently, Dakar. The 22-year-old\u2019s consistent walks for Chanel even landed her a<a href=\"https:\/\/models.com\/work\/chanel-beauty-chanel-beauty-les-rendez-vous-2022-campaign\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> campaign <\/a>with Chanel Beauty shot by Thurstan Redding. Looking back at when she first started her modeling journey, Yilan credits her ever-growing confidence to her job and notes that as a child, she was never told she was \u201cbeautiful\u201d by her parents. My parents told me to be humble at all times since I was very young,\u201d Hua describes. \u201cModesty makes people progress, and pride makes people lag behind.\u201d As she continued to book more jobs, Hua began to build up her self-esteem, realizing that \u201cthere is not one standard definition of beauty.\u201d In a short amount of time, the 22-year-old is on her way to joining the status of Chinese supermodels like <a href=\"https:\/\/models.com\/models\/liu-wen\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> Liu Wen<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/models.com\/models\/fei-fei-sun\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">FeiFei Sun<\/a>, and<a href=\"https:\/\/models.com\/models\/Du-Juan\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> Du Juan<\/a>. In between dominating the runways and multiple campaigns, you can catch Yilan gaming away backstage as a self-proclaimed avid gamer who swears by the PUBG game.
