Tom Ford Steps Down as CFDA Chairman<\/strong>
\nAfter a three-year tenure, Tom Ford<\/a> has stepped down as chairman of the Council of Fashion Designers of America. Ford was appointed to the role after chairwoman Diane Von Furstenberg resigned and took on the role in 2019, a year before the global pandemic. In a statement shared on Instagram, Ford said, \u201cOn May 31st, I will be ending my three-year term as Chairman of the CFDA. When I began my role as chairman in June of 2019, my goal was to help the American fashion industry become more globally recognized for its talent and importance. I could not have imagined the extraordinary circumstances that both the industry and the world would have to navigate\u2014that a pandemic would shut the world down and change the course of our lives and of our businesses forever.\u201d Ford will stay on the board of the non-profit, while Steven Kolb will serve as the interim Chair of the CFDA.
