Kenzo Selects Streetwear Legend Nigo As Artistic Director <\/strong>

Nigo, the Japanese guru of streetwear, is set to start his new role on September 20th and is expected to debut his first collection for women and men during Paris Fashion Week in January 2022. Naomi Campbell Honored as Ambassador to The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust<\/strong>
\nIndustry legend Naomi Campbell<\/a> has been named the first-ever global ambassador for the Queen\u2019s Commonwealth Trust in the UK. The trust funds young leaders in former territories of the British Empire that are making a difference in their local communities. With a quarter of a century of humanitarian work under her belt, Campbell spoke on the new appointment last night at the announcement event at the Cafe Royal Hotel in Central London saying, “It is my privilege to accept this role as global ambassador for The Queen\u2019s Commonwealth Trust. Regardless of where you are from or where you are now, there are young leaders within your community doing amazing work. Sometimes they are not seen and some of them may not even see themselves as \u2018leaders\u2019 yet, but they all deserve our support, and access to education and resources\u2026 This is something very close to my heart, and I will continue to do everything I can to uplift the next generation, so they can create a better future for their communities.” The trust started in 2018 on the Queen’s 92nd birthday and was formally ran by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, respectively as President and Vice President, until February 2021.

CFDA Announces Fashion Award Nominees <\/strong>
\nWith the CFDA awards on the horizon, the Council of Fashion Designers of America announced the 2021 honorees yesterday. The in-person event is set for November 10 and some of the nominees are, Catherine Holstein for KHAITE, Christopher John Rogers, Gabriela Hearst, Marc Jacobs, and Peter Do for American Womenswear Designer of the Year. For the American Menswear Designer of the Year, the nominees are Emily Adams Bode for BODE, Jerry Lorenzo for Fear of God, Mike Amiri for AMIRI, Telfar Clemens for Telfar, and Thom Browne. While for the accessories department, Ashley Olsen and Mary-Kate Olsen for The Row, Aurora James for Brother Vellies, Gabriela Hearst, Stuart Vevers for Coach, and Telfar Clemens for Telfar have been nominated for American Accessories Designer of the Year. As for the American Emerging Designer of the Year award, the nominees are Edvin Thompson for Theophilio, Eli Russell Linnetz for ERL, Jameel Mohammed for KHIRY, Kenneth Nicholson, and Maisie Schloss for Maisie Wilen.
