Tom Ford<\/a> Will Show in Los Angeles in February <\/strong>
\nThe designer and the chairman of the CFDA announced plans to show his coming collection in Los Angeles, rather than New York, where he previously had shown, reported the Business of Fashion. Ford cites the February 9th Oscars, specifically celebrity clientele, as the reason for making the decision to hold the show on the West Coast. \u201cI did this the last time that the two calendars overlapped and it worked well. LA is particularly exciting that week and as it is my home it seems the natural thing to do,\u201d the designer said, while also noting the CFDA “stood for the Council of Fashion Designers of America and not the Council of Fashion Designers of New York.”<\/p>\n

Phillip Picardi<\/a> Exits Out Magazine <\/strong>
\nAfter a one year tenure, Phillip Picardi announced through Instagram he is no longer at Out Magazine<\/a>. “It has been an honor to helm this title, and an even deeper honor to lead the most diverse team in this brand\u2019s history to create inspiring content and coverage that is for and by our community,” he wrote in the caption, continuing to mention hallmarks during his time there. “My only hope now is that I leave this publication better than I found it, hoping that I gave you all something to be proud of, too,” Picardi wrote. And…I\u2019m Out! No, seriously: Today was my last day at @outmagazine, closing the most complex chapter of my career so far. It has been an honor to helm this title, and an even deeper honor to lead the most diverse team in this brand\u2019s history to create inspiring content and coverage that is for and by our community. We created powerful images\u2014a masterful collaboration of the truly brilliant @yashuasimmmons and @papi.prada, who made shoestring budgets look glamorous. We did vital and groundbreaking work, like the #TransObituariesProject\u2014its 9,000 words edited and reported on by trans women of color (hello, @RaquelWillis). We put the first LGBTQ+ rapper on the brand\u2019s cover, thanks to @rayzhon. We created the first edition of this magazine where men were deliberately absent from its bylines and pages, thanks to @janetmock. We even took the art world by (brief!) storm at Frieze and the Venice Biennale, thanks to @museummammy. And the good news is: Folks actually saw it, thanks to the whopping 100+% growth in traffic\u2014, courtesy of @nico_lang, @rosedommu, and @mikellestreet. But every day of this work has been a challenge. Some of those challenges were meaningful, productive, and critical. Others were beyond our control. But, through resilience and an unwavering belief in what drew us here in the first place, our team found its purpose, time and time again, against the odds. We rallied together and uplifted one another\u2019s work with all our leftover energy. And that\u2019s why, I\u2019m so proud to say, I did all that I could, with what I had, and where I was \u2014 and I truly gave it my all. My only hope now is that I leave this publication better than I found it, hoping that I gave you all something to be proud of, too. Now, for the first time since I was 18 and walked into Teen Vogue as a wee intern, I\u2019m going to define happiness outside of just this career. I will have much to share soon, but for now, just this: Thank you for supporting me, reading my words, and believing in our team. LGBTQ+ media deserves the best, so that\u2019s what we gave it while we had the chance. xxPP<\/a><\/p>\n
