Karen Elson announced as new board member at The Model Alliance<\/strong>
\nModel Alliance announced this week the election of Super Karen Elson<\/a> to their Board of Directors. With a celebratory discussion hosted by designer Rachel Comey at her SoHo store, members of the fashion community, including James Scully<\/a>, Becca McCharen of Chromat<\/a>, and many more joined Elson and founding director Sara Ziff<\/a> to discuss a robust new program to eliminate harassment or abuse in the workplace. “I don’t want the young girls coming into this business to enter an unsafe environment,” Elson declared. “I want them to fully know what’s expected of them beforehand. I want them to have protection. I want them to feel power in a very real sense.”<\/p>\n

Yoon Ahn of Ambush is the new jewelry designer at Dior Homme<\/strong>
\nNewly appointed Dior Homme<\/a> designer Kim Jones<\/a> likes to keep it in the family and has appointed cofounder of Ambush, Yoon Ahn, as Dior Homme\u2019s new jewelry designer. Ahn, a friend and huge supporter of Jones’ work, has collaborated with the designer before when he worked at Louis Vuitton and will bring her expertise in jewelry design and hypebeast aesthetic to the old school maison. <\/p>\n
