If Philo\u2019s designs are known for their smart sensuality, Hedi\u2019s are for their sexuality. At first, his new Saint Laurent in 2012 was heretical in the eye\u2019s of YSL sticklers: extravagant, immoral, provocative thrift or something. Casting-wise, Philo always had a penchant for demystifying models into sobering, minimal C\u00e9line totems. The result: very spiritual, very real, very woman. The singular muse that comes to mind is <a href=\"https:\/\/models.com\/models\/Daria-Werbowy\/client\/all\/celine\">Daria Werborwy<\/a> who defined seven of Philo\u2019s campaigns. Hedi on the other has a special love for waving his hand and aggrandizing a model or musician or fashion delinquent and redressing them in his own likeness, taking their picture and naming them dignitaries of his sonic youth manifesto, say a <a href=\"https:\/\/models.com\/Work\/yves-saint-laurent-saint-laurent-fw-14-show\">Grace Hartzel<\/a> or a Julia Cumming. Two great designers, two different vantage points. This all begs the question: which face will Hedi use to proposition us come time for his new C\u00e9line?      <\/p>\n<p>Here are 5 things to consider as food for thought: <\/p>\n<p><strong>To give perspective some of Phoebe&#8217;s favorites to use were <a href=\"\/\/models.com\/models\/Daria-Werbowy\">Daria Werbowy<\/a>, <a href=\"\/\/models.com\/models\/karly-loyce\">Karly Loyce<\/a>, <a href=\"\/\/models.com\/models\/charlee-fraser\">Charlee Fraser<\/a>, <a href=\"\/\/models.com\/models\/Leona-Binx-Walton\">Binx Walton<\/a>, <a href=\"\/\/models.com\/models\/Frederikke-Falbe\">Frederikke Sofie<\/a>, <a href=\"\/\/models.com\/models\/daniela-kocianova\">Daniela Kocianova<\/a> and that one legendary time with <a href=\"\/\/models.com\/people\/joan-didion\">Joan Didion<\/a>. Does this take them out of the running?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Some of Hedi&#8217;s favorites during his tenure at Saint Laurent were <a href=\"\/\/models.com\/models\/grace-hartzel\">Grace Hartzel<\/a>, <a href=\"\/\/models.com\/models\/edie-campbell\">Edie Campbell<\/a>, <a href=\"\/\/models.com\/models\/cara-delevingne\">Cara Delevingne<\/a>, <a href=\"\/\/models.com\/models\/julia-cumming\">Julia Cumming<\/a>, <a href=\"\/\/models.com\/models\/helena-severin\">Helena Severin<\/a>, <a href=\"\/\/models.com\/models\/lili-sumner\">Lili Sumner<\/a>, <a href=\"\/\/models.com\/models\/lida-fox\">Lida Fox<\/a>, while also repeatedly using <a href=\"\/\/models.com\/models\/veronika-vilim\">Veronika Vilim<\/a>, <a href=\"\/\/models.com\/models\/kiki-willems\">Kiki Willems<\/a> and <a href=\"\/\/models.com\/models\/staz-lindes\">Staz Lindes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Outside of campaigns, Hedi is prolific in his obsessive documenting of his company of musicians, skaters, and young people, and posts his hundreds of photos on his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hedislimane.com\">DIARY<\/a>. Perhaps his next C\u00e9line muse is somewhere there? Remember way back when Hedi picked <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=LfV3bKOsbAA\" data-rel=\"lightbox-video-0\">Sidney Williams<\/a> out from the Coachella crowd when she was in 8th grade? Will he introduce a total unknown?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A C\u00e9line fragrance is coming, adding an additional layer of casting to consider. Hedi will be directing all the C\u00e9line collections, LVMH says, &#8220;extending to men\u2019s fashion, couture and fragrances.&#8221; At Saint Laurent, Hedi made it <a href=\"http:\/\/wwd.com\/fashion-news\/fashion-scoops\/hedi-slimane-says-no-to-black-opium-7961898\/\">clear<\/a> he played no role in the direction of Yves Saint Laurent Beaut\u00e9.<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p><strong>A question to be asked is will Hedi, again, be photographing all the visuals for his C\u00e9line? The answer is likely yes. Though he photographs a lot of models, not all of them get featured so numerously in his brand work as <a href=\"\/\/models.com\/models\/grace-hartzel\">Grace Hartzel<\/a>&#8230; plus just she happens to appear in his diary from the last couple of days. A close second is Sunflower Bean singer <a href=\"\/\/models.com\/models\/julia-cumming\">Julia Cumming<\/a>.
