Polaroids courtesy of Ford NY

The bi-annual shows in New York, London, Milan and Paris have for the past two years been dominated by a cluster of agencies (IMG, Women, DNA with mavericks like Marilyn recently joining the power circle). If the point of the two-month circus of shows is to expose an agency’s best girls to the ring of directional editors, designers, stylists and photographers who recruit from the show pool, then S/S 06 is signalling that a major new contender is on the block. The evidence? Flavia emerging as Look 1 at YSL, 2005 Ford Supermodel Of The World winner Camila logging a Calvin and Gucci exclusive followed by turns at Balenciaga and Chanel and Sonja Wanda and Alison logging a suite of blue chip shows in NY. Add to that former MOTW Fabiana’s bookings for Versace, Givenchy, Chanel and Pucci and Lesly’s surging editorial bookings and it is clear that Ford is flush with aces right this second. Now that the S/S 06 campaign castings are rolling, it is these six Ford faces that OTM will be tracking very closely.

The bi-annual shows in New York, London, Milan and Paris have for the past two years been dominated by a cluster of agencies

[3,9,2
1494,21,36,1492,24,752,35,1495,1493,23
