\u201cFrustrated by observing the lack of diversity in the industry and the dangerous message that one ideal fits all I felt there was a real need to voice a different approach. So when on a last train home from Paris whilst chatting with Valerie, we found common ground in our observations – the idea for Beauty Papers was born<\/em>\u201d says Maxine Leonard, co-founder of Beauty Papers.<\/p>\n

Beauty Papers,<\/strong>\u00a0a new beauty magazine, launches Issue 0, the \u201cFoundation Issue\u201d, previewed exclusively here on Models.com. The brainchild of Maxine Leonard<\/a>\u00a0and Valerie Wickes, it features pages packed with bold beauty and essays aiming to liberate the stale state of affairs.<\/p>\n

The punchy stories are teamed by the skin-obsessed, expert in conjuring new modes of makeup. Paola Kudacki<\/a>, Benjamin Puckey<\/a>\u00a0and Kevin Ryan<\/a>\u00a0keep the skin palette crisp and simple on Sarah Brannon<\/a>: water and glossy patina. Bruno Staub<\/a>, Maxine Leonard<\/a>\u00a0and Romina Manenti<\/a>\u00a0use shadow and brown-hued contouring to a painterly effect. Ben Hassett<\/a>\u2019s images of muse Guinevere Van Seenus<\/a> go the way of pure drama\u2013plastics, feathers, and deep color by makeup artist\u00a0Kanako Takase<\/a> and hairstylist Recine<\/a>.
