He becomes the house\u2019s eighth couturier and will debut his first women\u2019s ready-to-wear collection during Paris Fashion Week in October, following his menswear debut on June 27th. Anderson succeeds <a href=\"\/\/models.com\/people\/maria-grazia-chiuri\">Maria Grazia Chiuri<\/a>, who joined Dior in 2016 as artistic director of women\u2019s haute couture, ready-to-wear, and accessories. Her Cruise 2026 show in Rome marked her final show for the brand. Anderson said, \u201cI am incredibly honored to be given the opportunity to unite Dior\u2019s women\u2019s, men\u2019s and couture collections under a single, cohesive vision. My instinct is to be led by the house\u2019s empathetic spirit, established by Dior himself. While focused on menswear, the line is designed to be inclusive and for everyone. Lak said, \u201cFor me, it\u2019s a huge thing. It\u2019s my name, it\u2019s my company. It\u2019s not a relaunch, but it is something new, something on my own terms. I\u2019m not allowed to say scared; I\u2019m only allowed to say excited, but it is a little bit scary.\u201d Lak rose to prominence quickly after debuting Sies Marjan in 2016 with backing from Nancy and Howard Marks. By 2018, he had won the CFDA\u2019s Emerging Designer of the Year award, earning praise for his signature use of bold color. The label shuttered in 2020 due to the pandemic.
