What\u2019s your trademark?<\/strong><br \/>\nIt\u2019s about controlled, nuanced intensity, a tension between spontaneity and careful craft that leaves a certain aftertaste.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How did you get into your chosen career?<\/strong><br \/>\nAfter several years of studying political science, I realized that while I truly enjoyed it, it wasn&#8217;t the path I wanted to pursue. So, I made a change. Photography felt right \u2014 probably because I lacked other practical artistic skills.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What inspires your creative process and influences your artistic vision?<\/strong><br \/>\nThe starting point is often a small, precise yet seemingly banal detail \u2014 such as a gesture, the way someone places their feet together on a chair, how light bounces in the corner of an image, the specific edit of a film, or even the way trash spills over from a bin. These details trigger a chain reaction of past references and current cultural perceptions. They bounce and grind against each other, eroding and reshaping one another until something gets out. I don\u2019t really claim the virtue of inventiveness\u2014precedents can be named for almost every aspect of my work\u2014but I do try to be genuinely personal in this unanticipated application of various elements in this process of appropriation and imperfect assimilation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What have you watched\/heard\/read lately that has inspired you?<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/intl-fr\/album\/1lkpR22M13PKodcGwgaV7n?si=hHgd7e9BRkO7M2yVp7z2eg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">HiTec <\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Wild_Goose_Lake\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Wild Goose Lake by Diao Yinan<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gerhard-richter.com\/fr\/literature\/monographs\/gerhard-richter-doubt-and-belief-in-painting-57\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Doubt and Belief in Painting by Robert Storr<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lespressesdureel.com\/ouvrage.php?id=5164&#038;menu=0\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Neon paintings series by Nina Childress<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stanleybarker.co.uk\/products\/animalsKer\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">All of Sage Sohier\u2019s work<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.michaelwerner.com\/exhibitions\/ker-xavier-roussel\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ker- Xavier Roussel at Michael Werner<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>What do you love about what you do?<\/strong><br \/>\nMelding stylistic components that are sometimes held as antithetical into a richer and cohesive whole. It is about visually manifesting vague mental ideas and representations and observing how they evolve when they collide with reality. This constant trial-and-error dynamic \u2014 and doing all of it surrounded by people I admire.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What do you hope viewers take away from experiencing your work?<\/strong><br \/>\nI hope that they feel an immediate sense of visual pleasure, often unrelated to a specific subject. Over the years, we developed a very specific synergy.
