Setchu Wins 2023 LVMH Prize<\/strong>
\nThis week Setchu, by Satoshi Kuwata, who had previously worked as a Savile Row tailor and with luxury sneaker brand, Golden Goose, won the 2023 edition of the LVMH Prize for Young Designers. The award was presented by Gal Gadot at a ceremony held in Paris to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the prestigious accolade. Kuwata, based in Milan, outshone 2,400 applicants from 15 countries to claim the grand prize of \u20ac400,000 and a year of mentoring from experts at the luxury giant conglomerate, LVMH. Ukrainian designer Julie Pelipas’<\/a> label, “Bettter,” and Italian designer Luca Magliano<\/a>‘s brand, “Magliano<\/a>,” were both honored with the runner-up Karl Lagerfeld Special Jury Prize. This prize was presented by Chinese pop star, Xin Liu. As joint winners, Pelipas and Magliano received a grant of 200,000 euros and a one-year coaching program from the esteemed LVMH Group. Expressing his gratitude, Kuwata stated, “I hope that LVMH will guide me in transforming my brand into a heritage company for the future.” [WWD<\/a>]<\/p>\n
