(Photo by Taylor Hill\/Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>The models and stars showed up in full force for fashion\u2019s biggest night at the 2023 Met Gala, which celebrated the exhibition \u201cKarl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.\u201d Lagerfeld, a legend in the industry who worked at fashion houses like Chanel, Fendi, Patou, Balmain, Chlo\u00e9, and his own eponymous line, was often synonymous with the Chanel brand. <a href=\"https:\/\/models.com\/mdx\/an-inside-look-at-karl-lagerfeld-a-line-of-beauty\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The spring exhibition<\/a>, featuring over 150 pieces, including many of Lagerfeld\u2019s sketches, is open to the public starting May 5th. The inspiration behind this year\u2019s dress code theme was \u201cin recognition of Karl.\u201d Some attendees took the theme quite literally, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CruNfAlrDmi\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Doja Cat<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/models.com\/people\/jared-leto\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jared Leto<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CruPkjmNO56\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lil Nas X<\/a>, who dressed up as Lagerfeld\u2019s cat \u201cChoupette,\u201d while others paid homage by incorporating elements of Lagerfeld\u2019s signature style, such as monochromatic colors like  <a href=\"https:\/\/models.com\/models\/cara-delevingne\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cara Delevigne<\/a>, tweed like <a href=\"https:\/\/models.com\/models\/Sora-Choi\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sora Choi<\/a>, and pearls like <a href=\"https:\/\/models.com\/models\/gigi-hadid\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Gigi Hadid<\/a>. Designers and their muses also put their own spin on Lagerfeld\u2019s archival looks, with <a href=\"https:\/\/models.com\/models\/Gisele-Bundchen\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Gisele B\u00fcndchen<\/a> making a comeback wearing a dress from a 2007 editorial, and<a href=\"https:\/\/models.com\/models\/ashley-graham\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> Ashley Graham<\/a> sporting a Harris Reed look inspired by the Chanel Couture F\/W 1987-88 show.
