The 2023 Met Gala Co-Chairs Have Been Announced<\/strong>
\nThe 2023 Met Gala is quickly approaching, and this past week, The Metropolitan Museum of Art announced the exhibition and theme for the event held on The First Monday In May (May 1st) is \u201cKarl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.\u201d The evening’s official co-chairs are Michaela Coel<\/a>, Pen\u00e9lope Cruz<\/a>, Roger Federer<\/a>, Dua Lipa<\/a>, and Anna Wintour<\/a>. The exhibition will feature about 150 pieces from Lagerfeld<\/a>\u2019s career as the creative director of Chanel<\/a>, Chlo\u00e9<\/a>, Fendi<\/a>, and his eponymous label, Karl Lagerfeld<\/a>. It will also cover his time at Balmain and Patou. Many of the objects will include the late designer’s sketches. The Costume Institute\u2019s Wendy Yu Curator in Charge, Andrew Bolton, said, \u201cHe would sketch everything. He would always say that he could draw before he could talk or walk. In many ways it was his primary form of communication, whether he was delivering them by fax machine or iPhone. So at its heart the exhibition will look at the evolution of Karl\u2019s two-dimensional drawings into three-dimensional garments.\u201d The exhibition will open up to the public on May 5th.
