Brands Cancel Shows To Commemorate Queen Elizabeth II\u2019s Passing<\/strong>
\nDue to the news of Queen Elizabeth II’s death at age 96 on Thursday, brands that were set to debut their S\/S 23 collections at London Fashion Week postponed or canceled their shows today. Burberry<\/a> and Raf Simons<\/a> announced their cancellations out of respect for the royal family with many awaiting another possible cancellation blow from J.W. Anderson<\/a>. In the retail space, British retailers Selfridges<\/a> and Liberty<\/a> closed their stores today to join in the nation\u2019s mourning. The British Fashion Council acknowledges that fashion month presentations and collections must continue but said, \u201cwe are asking that designers respect the mood of the nation and period of national mourning by considering the timing of their image release.\u201d The period of national mourning lasts for ten days, starting on September 9th. NYFW Is Back <\/strong>
\nFashion week in New York is back like it never left. Proenza Schouler<\/a> will kick off festivities as the first major show to open up the season, with No Sesso<\/a> and Collina Strada<\/a> following. To close the night, Fendi<\/a> will debut their collection and celebrate the 25th anniversary of the iconic Baguette bag that Carrie Bradshaw of Sex and The City often wore. To celebrate Fendi\u2019s debut in NYC, Kim Jones<\/a> invited Marc Jacobs<\/a>, Sarah Jessica Parker<\/a>, and Tiffany & Co.<\/a> to design their interpretations of the famous Baguette bag. The rest of the weekend includes Altuzarra<\/a>, Eckhaus Latta<\/a>, Jason Wu<\/a>, Prabal Gurung<\/a>,Sergio Hudson<\/a>, Khaite<\/a>, Tommy Hilfiger<\/a>, and special guest Marni<\/a> debuting their collection. Edward Enninful and KLOSS Films Release “A Visible Man” Film<\/strong>
\nLegendary British Vogue EIC Edward Enninful<\/a>\u2019s new memoir, \u201cA Visible Man,\u201d details his experience as a young gay working-class refugee from Ghana, his career trajectory, and the future of fashion. To celebrate Enninful\u2019s new memoir, his husband and collaborator Alec Maxwell of KLOSS Films <\/a>directed a new film with a stellar cast dressed in Enninful\u2019s uniform of signature eyeglasses and all-black, tailored suit. The cast includes Kate Moss<\/a>, Omari Douglas<\/a>, Sienna Miller<\/a>, Simone Ashley<\/a>, Kristen McMenamy<\/a>, Jourdan Dunn<\/a>, Gemma Chan<\/a>, Tilda Swinton<\/a>, Damson Idris<\/a>, Daniel Kaluuya<\/a>, Jodie Turner-Smith<\/a>, Thandiwe Newton<\/a>, and more.
