What Went Down At The 2021 CFDA Awards<\/strong>
\nHosted by actress Emily Blunt, the 2021 CFDA Fashion Awards kicked off Wednesday night to celebrate the best designers, both homegrown and international, and this year the new generation of fashion won big. Fresh from dressing Gwyneth, Christopher John Rogers<\/a> beat out Catherine Holstein for Khaite, Gabriela Hearst, Marc Jacobs, and Peter Do for the top prize of American Womenswear Designer of the Year (with a fitting after party at PUBLIC hotel to match!) Emily Bode Aujla<\/a> of Bode received the American Menswear Designer of the Year, after winning the American Emerging Designer of the Year title two years ago. This year’s Emerging Designer award went to Edvin Thompson<\/a> for Theophilio<\/a> and Telfar Clemens<\/a> rightfully won the American Accessories Designer of the Year award. The International womenswear and menswear prizes went respectively to Demna Gvasalia<\/a> for Balenciaga<\/a> and Grace Wales Bonner for Wales Bonner<\/a>. The CFDA also honored the work of The Model Alliance founder Sara Ziff<\/a> with the first-ever Positive Social Influence Award, presented by both Beverly Johnson<\/a> and Carr\u00e9 Otis<\/a>. Other big firsts of the night? Iman presented the youngest-ever recipient Zendaya with the CFDA\u2019s Fashion Icon Award, and Cara Delevingne awarded the inaugural Face of the Year Award to Anya Taylor-Joy. [WWD<\/a>]<\/p>\n
