Coach Cancels Destruction of Goods Policy After TikTok Goes Viral <\/strong>
\nKnown as @TheTrashWalker, influencer and waste consultant Anna Sacks’ TikTok<\/a> went viral with her unboxing video on damaged Coach goods she bought from a dumpster diver. Sacks said in the TikTok with over 600K views, \u201cAs you can see, they\u2019re all slashed, which is Coach\u2019s policy. This is what they do with unwanted merchandise. They order an employee to deliberately slash it so no one can use it. Then they write it off as a tax write-off, under the same tax loophole as if it were accidentally destroyed.\u201d Coach responded on Monday that they have officially \u201cceased\u201d their policy of damaging merchandise and also stated, \u201cthat most of its damaged products that are destroyed represent only about 1% of its units globally.\u201d [WWD<\/a>]<\/p>\n
