Opening Ceremony is Closing<\/strong>
\nAnother famed retailer, unfortunately, bites the dust. Acquired earlier this week by New Guards Group, it was finally revealed by cofounders Carol Lim & Humberto Leon<\/a> that while the brand will continue to live on they will be closing their 4 store locations in New York, Los Angeles, and Tokyo in 2020. Open since 2002 and known for championing emerging and established global designer talent, the brand took to social channels saying, “…, we still believe in the power of passionate and unique retail. But we also believe in the necessity for change, reflection and an opportunity to refresh. This is a moment of transition for Opening Ceremony and, together with our new partners, we are taking the chance to step back and evaluate the future of our Opening Ceremony retail experience.” [WWD<\/a>]<\/p>\n
