That&#8217;s perhaps why the closing spot of any blue-chip show carries with it a covetous allure. Yes, <a href=\"\/\/models.com\/models\/jamie-helms\">Jamie Helms<\/a> closed the <a href=\"\/\/models.com\/client\/bottega-veneta\">Bottega Veneta<\/a> Spring Summer 2020 show for her debut walk, which she says &#8220;was all such a dream,&#8221; but we&#8217;re also sure we would have noticed her piercing eyes and cut glass features regardless. As it turns out, Jamie, 24, is Native American and part of her Coos Tribe in Siletz, Oregon.<br \/>\nHelms was scouted after photos a teacher from her reservation sent to a local agency blipped on all the right radars. Writing to us drinking &#8220;fancy coffee&#8221; backstage of an &#8220;exciting shoot,&#8221; she detailed her first fashion week experience saying, &#8220;I went into modeling with such an open mind so I feel ready for the unexpected, I spent most my days meditating and being grateful for everything I&#8217;ve been given.&#8221; Did we mention she also works as an auto mechanic in her hometown, another part of her pre-modeling upbringing that is a noteworthy base to build off of. &#8220;I grew up with a life full of challenges and really hard times. I feel like growing up in the environments I did has made me stronger and I can take on anything!&#8221;\u00a0Now that she&#8217;s revved up and answered her calling it&#8217;s anyone&#8217;s guess on how lofty the high in high fashion is going to be for Helms. Considering her unique roots and far from forgettable facade, we think we&#8217;ll be seeing more of the fresh face who just set her bar at Bottega. What&#8217;s next for her? &#8220;To travel the world and represent my heritage as a Native American. I also hope that one day I can utilize the platform I create.
