British Attack

The Brit boys have roared into town, bringing some rock ‘n’ roll style with them. Thursday night was the inaugural launch party for the opening of the first US flagship Ben Sherman store in SoHo. Several TV stars were in attendance including Danny Masterson from “That ’70s Show” who was presiding over the turntables, Eric Balfour from the new hit show “Conviction” and a few cast members from “Survivor.” The retro sounding British rock duo The Raveonettes also performed live to the fashion infused crowd that packed the store. The 5,300 square foot retail space has an old manor look to it with it’s white washed exposed brick wall and customized antique furnishings including ornately carved frames and huge chandeliers which is all in keeping with their “Mods in the Mansion” concept. The store will house men’s and women’s apparel along with leather goods, denim, tailored suits and accessories. [ 96 Spring Street, corner of Mercer, (212) 680-0160 ]
