Every so often a model walks straight off of the runway and into the spotlight. In Ellen Rosa‘s case it was off the runways of Alturzarra, Marc Jacobs, Prada, Versace and Chanel and onto the must-have lists of editors such as W’s Edward Enninful. A near guarantee of editorials to come photographed by top-level photographers. Maybe it’s her bee-stung pout, bright viridescent eyes and fine-tuned features availing reserved words like breathtaking that took her from Brazil’s freshest export to a rising obsession. Whatever it was, Spring/Summer 2017 was unquestionably the jumping-off point of a career packed with potential for dizzying heights. Models.com caught up with Ellen between an increasingly hectic schedule.
Firstly, four words to describe yourself….
Funny, playful, curious, cosplay fan.
Were you expecting to be so in-demand so all of a sudden?
I wasn’t expecting everything that happened, my agents always told me I would do amazing things but I didn’t quite believe it at the time.
How did you get your start?
I was discovered in my hometown when I was 14. Right after I turned 16 I moved to São Paulo to start working there. Since then it’s been nonstop.
Has the reality of it hit you yet? What’s changed?
I think it hasn’t hit me yet. Apart from my very busy schedule I feel pretty much the same.
But everything happens so fast, I’m still trying to figure it out.
How are you mentally preparing for the upcoming year?
I’m working on keeping myself centered in what I’m doing, calm and at peace.
Who do you admire in the industry?
What was your favorite experience(s) from fashion weeks?
Versace show and backstage. I have never seen so many top models together in one place.
What are some things on your new modeling to-do list?
I really want to go to Japan at some point and work for magazines like W, Vogue, Love, i-D, V.
Something you want to stay the same?
I want to still have time to watch my Korean dramas and anime.
