For his second offering of ready-to-wear, John Galliano explored ladies (and gents) who lunch with a retro, demented twist at the house of Maison Margiela. Humorous theatrics combined with artisanal couture creations set in the fifties for an eccentric collection that was embellished to the max. With a considerable amount of individual beauty looks by Pat McGrath, silver-gilded geometric shapes drawn on cheeks were immediately followed by cobalt-blue painted lids and berry stained pouts. Hair created by Eugene Souleiman (Streeters London) also ranged from cotton pastel tinged bouffants to rockabilly french-rolls or extravagant updos with a Japanese influence. In short, the extravagant production was nothing short of references or style.
