Maven Style

Two best friends with a “passion for fashion” and a “weakness for chicness” looking for an outlet to express their style – what to do? Create your own line of fun, retro-inspired jewelry and call it Maven (dedicated to all the fashion mavens out there). That’s exactly what actress Tori Spelling did with her childhood best friend Mehran Farhat. Their line of gold pendant necklaces, bracelets and earrings have a likeable flair with names like “I Do,” “Vegas Baby,” and “Hawaii Five-O” linked to corresponding gold-plated themed charms hanging from a 14K gold chain. One of my favorites is “Lucky Charms,” a combination of a four leaf clover, wishbone, horseshoe, lucky number 7 and Italian horn icons. For the New Yorkers at heart, there’s also a “New York” necklace with an enameled apple, Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, pizza pie and a New York gold medallion. There’s something for everyone in this collection. Pricing between $145 to $1,200, the line isn’t cheap. But are you feeling lucky today? Take a chance and roll the dice, and be sure to sport your “Lucky Charms.”
