Call it the 2nd wave of Suno – fresh off a CFDA win, designers Erin Beatty and Max Osterweis showcased their versatility via a showing that broadened the brand’s reach. Starting with the blank slate of an all white skirt and blouse combo accented by Kirkwood collabo sandals, set the tone for a clean collection punctuated by vibrant solids. We’ve grown accustomed to the kinetic energy of Beatty and Osterweis’ prints, but S/s saw the duo entering into serene territory. The label’s colorful kangana patterns made an appearance on skirts and dresses, but compared to the flashbang of seasons past these details were subdued. Mixed prints are still de rigueur on the Suno runway, but to their credit the combinations never feel forced or repetitive. Viewers were treated to a delightful array of floral, geometric and painterly motifs emblazoned on breezy short sleeve tops or voluminous pants cropped at the ankle. Things took a turn for the sumptuous with the addition of several textured metallic pieces during the finale, which added a touch of eveningwear polish. The subtle brocade leaves on the final trio of dresses were glossy, delicate and unlike anything we’ve seen on the Suno runway before.
