Maiyet S/S 13

Every season Maiyet takes us on a journey, exploring the cultural heritage of the nation’s where the brand’s artisans reside. For spring that means a colorful trip through the beauty of indigenous Peru, as well as its industrial history. The theme was clear from the moment you walked into the Palais de Tokyo and saw the wealth of Peruvian imagery on the walls, this coupled with lush array of wild plant life set the mood for a breezy and elegantly minded collection that never lost sight of its sense of ease.

Models waltzed down the runway in embroidered dresses in crisp white and hand woven silk batik, all accessorized to the hilt with Maiyet’s signature horn cuffs and carved bone rings. Anyone with an eye for quality can appreciate the intricacy and attention to detail in every Maiyet piece, the fact that nearly everything is made by hand comes as no surprise, but it adds a layer of individuality and preciousness to each piece. Even the wardrobe standards like maxi dresses and leather jackets seem to have an added allure, especially when they’re done in rich tones like russet and jade and styled to perfection by Lori Goldstein.
