We like to think that Prince would have loved Prabal Gurung‘s spring extravaganza and we’re not talking about stuffy monarchs. Instead we look to the iconic (and stylish) 80s musician and noted lover of purple. To break out a bad pun, purple reigned over Garung’s s/s offerings. Nearly every ensemble had a hint of the royal hue and given the fact that the punchy shade looks gorgeous on most people, we couldn’t help but be drawn in to Gurung’s plum tinted fantasy. There is something wonderful about when a designer latches onto an idea and runs with it. Though the color palette was restrained, there was still plenty of variety – saturated prints, sheer embellishments, ombre, unique textures it was all there. The finale dresses – particularly the white number on Toni Garrn and the violet showstopper on Sui He, were like icing on a very decadent cake.
